Opening game of the 2014 World Cup

Brazil-Croatia 3-1 : Controversial officiating seems to dominate the talk of this game, with a weak penalty kick being awarded to Brazil by the Japanese center referee Yuichi Nishimura. Fred seemed to slip on his own in the middle of the goal mouth, though Croatian defender Lovren did have a hand barely on his shoulder. Scoring started in the 11th minute when a deflected ball hit Brazil defender Marcello''s boot before going in his own goal. Neymar then scored with a long distance worm-burner in the 29th minute to equalize. The controversial penalty put Brazil ahead at 69 minutes, and Oscar completed the scoring with a goal in stoppage time, again from distance.
